Annual Regular General Assembly
Center of Concern held the annual regular general assembly meeting of 2017 budget year on March 16, 2018 in Hawassa at Oasis International Hotel. The main agendas of the meeting were to discuss and endorse the annual performance report, annual external audit report and annual plan for the 2018 budget year. Ato Ketem Wondimu, Secretary of the General Assembly and ato Kussiya Bekele Secretary of the board warmly welcomed the participants and opened the meeting.
Ato Assefa Getaneh, Executive Director of the organization in his annual report presentation explained that CoC has been implementing Child Empowerment & Protection, Institutional Child Care & Support, Women Empowerment, Enhancing Quality Education, Climate Change adaptation Mitigation and School Expansion/Construction Projects in Hawassa City administration, Sidama Zone, Halaba Special Woreda, South Omo Zone and in Kokosa Woreda of Oromiya Regional State with a total budget of more than 15million ETB. The projects were implemented with the financial support made from GOAL Ethiopia, Union of Ethiopian Women Charitable Associations (UEWCA), AmplifyChange, Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation (PCF), Edget Baandnet Childre’s Center and Initiative Africa. During the budget year, CoC has made remarkable progress in terms of the number of projects, amount of budget, number of beneficiaries and implementation capacity.
The representative of the external audit firm also expressed that the organization has performed as per its financial policy and the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and also meets the 30/70 of rule of ChSA. The General Assembly discussed and unanimously endorsed both the reports.
The meeting was concluded after reviewing the annual plan for 2018 budget year and endorsing a total budget of 17 million ETB.
