Training to Peace Council Members

Center of Concern Conducted Training to Peace Council Members

Center of Concern in collaboration with USAID/OTI conducted a 3 days capacity building training workshop from May 31 to June 2, 2021 in Hawassa, Central Hotel for 120 Peace Council members from Wondo Genet (Sidama) and Wondo (Oromiya) distinct on peace building and conflict management mechanisms with the objective of promoting peaceful dialogue and conflict management for peaceful election through joint peace council in the areas of Wondo Genet and Wondo distinct. The training was very interactive that peace council members shared their indigenous knowledge on building peace in their communities and also the management of potential conflicts.

After the training, the trainees promised to closely work with concerned stakeholders and contribute for the peaceful management of potential pre and post-election conflicts.

In addition, Center of Concern provided mobile apparatus to all the 120 trainees to help them effectively communicate with each other and to stakeholders.
